Nova vas is a village in the hills to the south of Višnja Gora in the Ivančna Gorica municipality in central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Central Slovenia statistical region.[2]

The local church is dedicated to Saint Leonard (Slovene: Sveti Lenart) and belongs to the Višnja Gora parish. It dates to the 14th century.[3]
